This Green Moon is a truly unique venue for hosting weddings. We provide something for every taste and budget, but still in keeping with the natural surroundings. We’ll offer to help and advise from start to finish because we like to think that no two weddings should be the same and you shouldn’t have any unanswered questions… no matter how stupid they seem.

Whether you’re looking for something intimate, with just a handful of guests or a right good knees up, we know how to host a great party, that will make unforgettable memories.

Places and Spaces…

Within the woodland lives a 200 year old beech tree, towering next to a victorian ornamental lake, this giant shades a stunningly peaceful ceremony area.

The Canopy Bar offers a bespoke bar set up. A natural canvas supported by hazel and ash poles fits perfectly within the ancient woodlands. Over the years, we’re proud of the relationships we have built with local suppliers.

Our unique and spacious fire circle, which is sheltered under two giant tipis, has hypnotic powers and is the heart of every great gathering. 

The broadleaf and deciduous tree canopy offers a unique backdrop in the daytime and becomes dramatically different in the evening. With many lovely, hidden and enchanting breakout areas to explore.

We are determined and wildly passionate about presenting awesome events. This is only possible with the support of like minded friends who excel at providing professional loveliness within their field. Whether its tremendously tasty, award winning street food or jaw dropping floral explosions, we have friends of the forest who fit the bill.

Entertainment…

We are pleased to let your imagination and taste run free here! If you have a favourite band, DJ or family morris dancing troup, that’s cool.

Out in the Sticks festival (Our very own family music and arts festival) has meant we now have a little black book of tremendous performers who are guaranteed to light up proceedings.

‘We were in no rush to get married, until we went to the open weekend at This Green Moon! The venue had everything we would have ever wanted – a beautiful outdoor setting, right on our doorstep, with plenty to keep the kids entertained, space for a cricket wicket, and hammocks! We went back the next day and booked a wedding for the same weekend the following year (as it was a safe bet we’d catch the bluebells and wild garlic).

Paul and Ash were fantastic in working with us to create a truly unique event, making all our wishes happen and suggesting some great touches of their own. The day couldn’t have been more perfect – even the weather was superb. All of our guests, young and old, local and international, had a memorable day and got to experience the best Yorkshire has to offer. We can also attest to the success of other events at This Green Moon – we’ve enjoyed everything from Tree Nippers to Fire and Dine, Twilight Tales and Starlight Trails, as well as other seasonal events.
